Celebrate true love with a magical twist at Dîner en Blanc Singapore 2014

Tuesday, 27th May 2014, SINGAPORE. Dîner en Blanc returns to Singapore on Saturday, 5th July to celebrate the simple elegance of sharing delicious food with wonderful friends, all heightened by the mystique of a secret location.
 

This year’s “chic picnic” is set to be the most romantic yet and in a magical twist, each pair of diners will be invited to inscribe their hopes and dreams on a special card, slip it in their champagne bottle and let it glide out into the water. Organisers will collect the bottles, all messages will be displayed on Facebook, and the most romantic will win a very exclusive prize from the event’s champagne sponsor, Perrier-Jouët.
 

The spectacle is bound to ignite declarations of love, and organisers are calling for those who are planning to get down on one knee to come forward now to compose the perfect proposal at the event.
 

Dîner en Blanc launched with just a handful of friends in Paris 25 years ago. It has since spread to 40 other cities including Singapore, which is now in its third year and planning to host 3210 guests.
 

Guests dress in white and conduct themselves with the very best etiquette, decorum and grace. Genevieve Grosliere, the President of Singapore’s French Association (Association Francaise de Singapour) has chosen to launch her book “Etiquette à la Française - The art of the table” at this year’s Dîner en Blanc. It shares the history and meaning behind the very distinctive code of behavior known as French etiquette, which is admired around the world, and will serve as a guide for guests who are looking to recreate the Parisian experience.

Phase 1 registration, for diners who attended last year’s event, and Phase 2 registration, where guests from Phase 1 sponsor an additional table of friends, are now open.
 

Phase 3 registrations open on Tuesday, 3rd June and members of the public are invited to submit their details to https://singapore.dinerenblanc.com/register for their chance to attend.
 

Tickets to Dîner en Blanc are SGD 40 per person with a SGD 6.40 membership fee.

Dîner en Blanc is a mass "chic picnic" in a public space where the location is only revealed to attendees at the last minute. It was launched with just a handful of friends by François Pasquier over 25 years ago in Paris, France. Since then, there have been many versions of this spectacle spread across the world, including Singapore.
